Project Overview

Closet Factory, a U.S. custom furniture brand, needed a revised lighting configuration for a residential wardrobe application used to store clothing and small items.

The project used 8×8mm LED neon strips installed along the sides of the shelf compartments. Custom strip lengths and different lead lengths accommodated the installation positions. The samples were approved and the project entered mass production.

Customer Challenge

The previous lighting assembly combined an LED strip, an aluminium profile and a polycarbonate cover. The cover contacted the shelf panel and interfered with the fit. Dark areas were also reported at the top or bottom of the illuminated sections.

The customer needed a configuration that addressed this fit issue while providing a more continuous lighting appearance.

What We Did

iPixel selected an 8×8mm LED neon strip configuration for the shelf-side installation. The specified lighting was 24V, 4500K and 6W per metre, with a motion-sensor switch for activation.

Each lighting set combined five specified strip sizes, with lead lengths adapted to their respective installation positions, plus one power supply and one sensor. Strip lengths were customized for the wardrobe layout.

Project Results

The project entered mass production, with a reported project quantity of approximately 1,000 lighting sets. Each set covered five strip sizes and included a power supply and a sensor.

The customer reported satisfaction with the result.
