Project Overview

A wardrobe manufacturer and furniture brand in Dubai needed integrated lighting for a residential walk-in wardrobe project featuring wooden cabinetry and glass doors. The customer's identity remains confidential.

The project called for lighting beneath the shelves, with customized strip and cable lengths to suit the furniture layout. iPixel supplied a COB LED strip configuration with a door-operated switch.

Customer Challenge

The customer found the previous lighting inconvenient to use. The aim was to have the wardrobe lighting turn on when the cabinet door opened, making it easier to find clothes at night. The customer also wanted a soft, continuous lighting appearance.

What We Did

iPixel used 24V COB LED strips in 4000K, rated at 8W per metre, installed in profiles beneath the shelves. Strip lengths and cable lengths were customized for the installation.

A door-operated switch provided the requested door-opening activation. Each lighting kit contained four strip sections, one door-operated switch and one 24V, 60W power supply with four outputs.

The supply's 60W rating describes the power supply, rather than the measured power consumption of a complete kit.

Validation

The installation check covered adhesion inside the profile and the visible lighting effect. According to the project notes, the 3M adhesive held securely after the strip was installed in the profile, and no visible light spots were observed. The installation check was accepted.

Project Results

The samples were approved and the project entered mass production. The order quantity was 300 lighting kits, each containing four strip sections, one door-operated switch and one power supply.

The customer reported satisfaction with the supplied solution.
