Project Overview
A Melbourne-based retail display fixture supplier needed LED lighting for acrylic cosmetics display shelving intended for airport duty-free retail. The customer's name is not disclosed.
The project used rigid LED light bars positioned at the bottom of the acrylic display structure, with light distributed through the acrylic light guide. The light bars needed to accommodate different display lengths.
Customer Challenge
The customer required customized lengths and higher luminous efficacy than the previous lighting configuration. The project therefore focused on matching the display dimensions and improving the light output available per watt at the light-bar level.
What We Did
iPixel supplied rigid LED light bars in customized lengths for integration with the acrylic display structure. High-efficacy LEDs were selected for the lighting configuration.
The light bars were positioned at the bottom of the acrylic structure to provide light for its light-guide arrangement. iPixel's scope in this case was the LED light bars, rather than the complete retail fixture or the store's wider lighting installation.

Validation
According to the supplied project information, integrating-sphere testing of the completed LED light bars confirmed luminous efficacy above 170 lm/W.
This result refers to the tested light bars. It does not describe the output of the complete acrylic display after light-guide losses or establish a measured energy-saving percentage for the finished installation.
Project Results
The project entered mass production, with a reported project quantity of 1,000 sets. The customer reported satisfaction with the result.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where were the light bars installed?
They were positioned at the bottom of the acrylic display structure, with light distributed through the acrylic light guide.
What was customized for the project?
The rigid light-bar lengths were customized to accommodate different display dimensions.
What does the figure above 170 lm/W refer to?
It is the light-bar luminous efficacy reported from integrating-sphere testing of completed LED bars. It is not an efficacy rating for the complete acrylic fixture or a percentage improvement over the previous installation.
